N Vijayan Pillai, the LDF legislator from Chavara, expired early on Sunday at a private hospital in Kochi. He died today morning at 3 am. He was underwent treatment for liver ailments for past two months. Rites would be held at home in sankaramangalam on Monday. The sixty five year-old starts off his political career in the Revolutionary Socialist Party and was a a close aid on late minister Baby John. Over the two decades he was representing the local bodies , later he moved to the congress party after a few years he left the congress. Pillai got a seat in 2016 Assembly polls under the banner of a faction of communist party and enjoyed an ineffable victory over Shibu Baby John, by 6,189 votes. Pillai is survived by his wife and three children. Chief Minister Pinarayi vijayan, opposition leader Ramesh chennithal have deeply condoled the death of Pillai.
