Company asks RS 7 lakh compensation but gave back Rs 2 crore : Govt fired supplyco MD KN satheesh

The government has dismissed K N Satheesh from the post of Supply co MD found the large scale irregularities in Supply Co dealings. In a outlandish statement , a company named San spices located in Wayanad asked for the compensation of Rs 6.91 for keep out it from Coffee powder distribution was given 2 crore. Food Department secretary probed the incident and was found he was facilitated the fraud deal. On the basis of this finding strong action was taken against Satheesh. The company was given the contract in 2007 and later it was banned for not keeping the time.

When there was only condition for paying back the fine, the company met Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Facilitation Council for Rs 6.91 lakh.

In 2016, it ordered to pay back amount Rs 38 lakh and the SupplyCo  bought the stay against it from the high court. Following the vacation of the stay, the MD himself has  decided to pay Rs 2 crore even though company demanded Rs One crore, including a year’s interest.

 

It is found that The MD had reached the settlement without informing the head office management committee, SupplyCo or legal department.

Soon after receiving information about this, Minister P Thilothaman ordered Secretary Venugopal to inquire the irregularity. The Food department has also decided to probe all dealing done by the MD.
