This is the end to the 7 year long legal battle, the four Nirbhaya case convicts , Vinay Sharma, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Pawan Gupta and Akshay singh were hanged to death today at 5.30 am in Delhi’s Tihar jail.
As per the protocol, the bodies of the four men will keep on hanging for the next 30 minutes after which they will be floored and examined by a doctor. After the examination bodies will send for post-mortem then , they will be released to the respective families.
Speaking to media shortly after the four Nirbhaya convicts were hanged, the victim’s mother, Asha Devi, pay thanks to the judiciary and the government for ensuring that the rapists of her daughter were executed. “It may have taken time, but justice was finally delivered,” she said.
There has loads of activity have been done outside Delhi’s Tihar Jail hours before the four men were to be executed. Hundreds of people were gathered outside the jail premises in Delhi where paramilitary forces had been deployed to ensure security.
